RHODES NEW TOWN
From the cruise ship dock/pier we drive to the historical buildings where the Venetian, Gothic and Oriental elements blend:

The Mandraki Old Harbor, where according to tradition, the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, once stood. (Stop Visit Photos).

The North Point of the island where the East Coast’s Mediterranean Sea and the West Coast’s Aegean Sea meet.
MONTE SMITH
We then drive up the hillside to Monte Smith, the Acropolis of Rhodes City. Here visitors enjoy a panoramic view of the city, both East and West Coasts. Also, the Temple of Apollo, the Hellenistic Stadium, and the Ancient Theater. (Stop Visit Photos)

The Jewish Cemetery one of the best preserved in Europe and it contains tombstones from the 1840’s to the present. Today many of these tombstones have been unearthed and exposed. Some of them are extremely interesting, both because their form and the inscriptions they bear. (Stop Visit Photos)

Then you’ll pass through one of the gateways of the Medieval City and enter the Jewish Quarter named “La Juderia”.
Here your Tour/Driver will park the car at the car parking place and show you how to walk to the Jewish Synagogue and Museum (Tour/Drivers are not permitted to provide walking tours, so he’ll wait at the car parking for your return) -

The Holocaust Memorial dedicated to the Jewish martyrs of Rhodes and Cos who were killed in the concentration camps. It is shaped as a six-sided figure with each side displaying the following text in various languages (Greek-French-Italian-English-Hebrew-Ladino): « Never forget. Then onto the “Kahal Shalom” Synagogue (Open at 10:00 AM) the oldest synagogue in Greece. It was built in the year 1577 and is still in service. The full name of the building is “Kahal Kadosh Shalom” (Holy Congregation of Peace). It is used for prayer services when visitors or former residents and their families visit the Island for Friday night prayer services, High Holiday services and for special occasions. Most features of the Kahal Shalom Synagogue are typical of Sephardic Synagogues. An unusual feature of the temple is the fact that there are two hekháls (Torah arks), on either side of the door leading into the interior courtyard. (Stop Visit Photos)

You will visit the Rhodes Jewish Museum that collected a large number of pictures of the past Jewish community in Rhodes and the 800-Year-Old Torah which is one of the oldest Torahs in the world. Originally from and used by the Sephardic Jewish of the Iberian Peninsula and brought to Rhodes Island by the Sephardic Jewish refugees when they fled Spain and Portugal. The Jewish Museum of Rhodes opens for the first time in 1997. Aron Hasson, attorney, from Los Angeles and Rhodian third generation, is the founder and the one who inspired the idea of creating a museum. (Stop Visit Photos)
THE JOURNEY TO LINDOS
Once you get back to the car parking, your journey to Lindos will take you along a beautiful, 50km / 32 miles drive of the east coast of the island, past picturesque little villages.

RHODES TRADITIONAL POTTERY ART
On the way to Lindos, you can choose an optional short stop at a pottery workshop where the traditional pottery of Rhodes is made. You can even learn the mystery of the Pythagorean cup. Just let your tour/driver know that you wish to make this short stop.
PANORAMIC VIEW OF LINDOS
One mile before Lindos we stop at a vantage point for a panoramic picture of the acropolis, the village, and the port of Lindos.
ST PAUL’S BAY
Next, we drive down to St. Paul’s Bay, a site of incredible wild beauty. From this point you can also view the cave where “The Guns of Navarone” was filmed.
LINDOS VILLAGE AND ACROPOLIS
Then we drive you to the main square of Lindos Village, so you can explore the white village and climb up the Acropolis of Lindos or take a “Lindos Taxi”—a donkey! The view from the top is truly extraordinary.
THE COASTAL ROAD OF FALIRAKI AND KALLITHEA
Later we will meet you at the main square of Lindos for the return trip. The last 14 kilometers / 8 mile we drive through the coast road of Kallithea and Faliraki.
BACK TO THE SHIP (or to the STARTING POINT)
We will take you back to your cruise ship. If you prefer to be taken to the Medieval City for independent browsing, you will be responsible for returning on foot to the ship, docked about a quarter-mile away.

Excursion Extensions:You may extend this tour and add lunch time at a seaside village at the Mediterranean Sea right on the water’s edge (scenic) with fresh seafood, Rhodian cuisine and excellent local wines. You can also extend this tour and add the highlights and landmarks you want to visit.

Useful Info
- The Synagogue and the Museum are closed on Saturdays. The Jewish Cemetery closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Entrance fee in the Synagogue and the Jewish Museum is 6 Euros per person
- To reach the Acropolis of Lindos you will be required to climb 292 steps, or ride on a donkey.
- If you have elderly people in your group, we can drive them down on the beautiful beach of Lindos have a drink and a nice discuss with the driver and enjoy the panoramic view while they are waiting for you to climb up the Acropolis of Lindos.
- Entrance fee Acropolis of Lindos 12 Euros per person, Seniors (with Id or Passport) 6 Euros per person, Children under 18 years old free, No charge to enter Lindos village.
